Become a Democracy Defender

Since 1929, the League of Women Voters of Greater Green Bay (LWVGGB) has been a nonpartisan, volunteer-led organization of women and men dedicated to "making democracy work."  We strive to educate our community on issues that impact their daily lives while advocating for open and transparent government.

We invite you to join us!

The League is neither "left" nor "right." Rather, we are committed to creating a democracy that works for and represents all. If that sounds like a worthy effort, there are many opportunities to support or actively engage with the LWVGGB.

DONATE

We welcome donations from both our members and the broader community to support our programming. If you are a LWVGGB member, you can donate through the LWV Member Portal.

If you are not a member but would like to support our important work, you can donate through PayPal or by sending a check to LWV of Greater Green Bay at PO Box 1923, Green Bay, WI 54305-1923.

The LWVGGB is a tax-exempt organization under Section 501 (c) (3) of the I.R.S. tax code.  Contributions are tax deductible to the extent allowed by law.

ATTEND QUARTERLY MEETINGS (and bring a friend!)

In addition to committee meetings, LWVGGB members have the opportunity to meet in person four times annually.

  • Lively Issues - Each February we gather for a member-driven brainstorming session that sets our priorities for the coming year.

  • Annual Meeting - In May, we review the previous year's accomplishments, discuss opportunities for improvement, vote on the coming year's budget, and install new officers.

  • Summer Picnic - We gather at a local park in August for camaraderie and a guest speaker.

  • The Holiday Brunch - In December we come together to socialize and reflect with our fellow League members.

REPRESENT THE LEAGUE IN THE COMMUNITY

Engaging directly with the community is one of the most effective ways for our chapter to increase voter participation, educate the public on critical issues, and expand our membership. You can help in several ways:

  • Be a LWVGGB ambassador: Speak to small groups or organizations about topics related to voting and voter registration. All materials are provided.

  • (Wo)man the LWVGGB booth at local events, ranging from farmers markets to Juneteenth, spreading our message throughout the community.

  • Join the Observer Corps: Attend local county, municipal, and school board meetings and report back on issues you feel LWVGGB should be following.
